수고하고 땀 흘려야 먹음(창 3:17~19)
Genesis chapter 3 - 17
17.To Adam he said, "Because you listened
to your wife and ate from the tree about
which I commanded you, 'You must not
eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because
of you; through painful toil you will eat
of it all the days of your life.
17.아담에게 이르시되 네가 네 아내의 말을 듣고
내가 네게 먹지 말라 한 나무의 열매를 먹었은즉
땅은 너로 말미암아 저주를 받고 너는 네 평생에
수고하여야 그 소산을 먹으리라
18.It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
18.땅이 네게 가시덤불과 엉겅퀴를 낼 것이라
네가 먹을 것은 밭의 채소인즉
19.By the sweat of your brow you will eat
your food until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken; for dust
you are and to dust you will return."
19.네가 흙으로 돌아갈 때까지 얼굴에 땀을 흘려야
먹을 것을 먹으리니 네가 그것에서 취함을 입었음
이라 너는 흙이니 흙으로 돌아갈 것이니라 하시니라
부지런한 자는 택함받음 (왕상 11:28)
Kings 1 chapter 11 - 28
Now Jeroboam was a man of standing,
and when Solomon saw how well the
young man did his work, he put him
in charge of the whole labor force of
the house of Joseph.
이 사람 여로보암은 큰 용사라 솔로몬이
이 청년의 부지런함을 보고 세워
요셉 족속의 일을 감독하게 하였더니
손이 게으르면 가난하게 됨 (잠 10:4)

Lazy hands make a man poor,
but diligent hands bring wealth.
손을 게으르게 놀리는 자는 가난하게 되고
손이 부지런한 자는 부하게 되느니라
부지런한 자의 마음은 풍족함 (잠 13:4)

The sluggard craves and gets nothing,
but the desires of the diligent are fully
satisfied.
게으른 자는 마음으로 원하여도 얻지 못하나
부지런한 자의 마음은 풍족함을 얻느니라
먼저 그 나라와 의를 구할 것 (마 6:33)

But seek first his kingdom and
his righteousness, and all these things
will be given to you as well.
그런즉 너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라
그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라
